Mahakali Temples for the USA
We have a vision to build Temples to Mahakali in each of the fifty states in the USA as well as one in each territory. The purpose of these temples is to help people learn about the Goddess in all of Her many manifestations, and how to live in Balance with nature. Each temple will be open to the public 24 hours per day, and will be staffed by 12 Mahakali Priestesses and their volunteer assistants.
During the past week we have located the property for the first temple just out of Ithaca, NY. This temple will serve the State of New York, and will serve as the headquarters for the temple building project. The land and temple construction will cost $200,000. We expect that construction and staffing will take approximately one year to complete, and we expect to begin construction before the end of this year. Priestesses are already being trained for this location.
The next two temples will be constructed in Tulsa, OK and in Seattle, WA. In the Tulsa area land is available near the Vietnamese Buddhist and Hindu Laxmi Temples, and land is tentatively available to us overlooking Seattle, WA as well. The training of priestesses has recently begun in the Tulsa area as well. Other locations will be added as soon as these three temples are finished and open to serve the general public. Locations are currently being considered in Austin, TX, Asheville, NC and Sedona, AZ.
